Tribal members get first look at Ho-Chunk Gaming – Beloit ahead of grand opening

By Ardith Van Riper

On October 18, Ho-Chunk Gaming – Beloit opened its doors to tribal members and their guests for a soft opening.  The event ran from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm and featured entertainment, a survey table, a gift-bag scavenger hunt, and free play.  The event also helped train the facility staff ahead of the grand opening slated for October 23.

The Ho-Chunk Nation owns and operates Ho-Chunk Gaming – Beloit and six other Wisconsin locations.  There are currently 7,752 tribal members.  The $705 million Beloit facility is the tribe’s largest gaming operation yet.

Event organizers scheduled buses to collect tribal citizens from St. Paul, Eau Claire, Black River Falls, Tomah, Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Nekoosa, La Crosse, and Wisconsin Dells.

As owners of the new gaming site, VIP guests could ask questions and provide feedback to staff.  The preview offered live entertainment, an operating gaming floor, and several dining options.

Tribal members were encouraged to explore the new facility and take part in a scavenger hunt designed to help participants discover everything the property has to offer.  The casino awarded $175 in free play to tribal citizens and $75 to their guests.

Ho-Chunk Gaming – Beloit is also hosting a Beloit Community Day before the grand opening.  People with a Beloit address on their ID or who work in Beloit are invited to visit Thursday, October 22, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The official grand opening to the public is October 23, with doors opening at 2:00 pm at 777 Willowbrook Road in Beloit, WI.

The second phase of the property, which includes a 312-room hotel and a 2,000-seat conference center, will be completed later in 2027.
