Kristin White Eagle Sworn in as Vice President of the Ho Chunk Nation

     The Ho-Chunk Nation Legislature has appointed Kristin White Eagle as the Nation’s new Vice President, effective May 27, 2025.

     A seasoned leader with years of legislative and community service, White Eagle brings a strong record of advocacy, sovereignty work, and cultural leadership to the role.

     White Eagle, who represents District 2 in the Legislature, has served multiple terms and also sits on the Sauk County Board of Supervisors.

     She was instrumental in establishing Indigenous Peoples’ Day in Sauk County and has helped lead cultural celebrations and intergovernmental partnerships through her role in the “ONE SAUK, NATURALLY” initiative.

     In her time as a legislator, she has championed the Ho-Chunk Nation’s rights to self-governance, supporting cannabis decriminalization, advancing environmental protections through a Rights of Nature Charter, and promoting wellness initiatives like healing-to-wellness courts.
